Training and Education

I completed my doula training through DONA International in February 2015 and am currently taking the extra step to earn certification through DONA. Certification requires continued education, completing a lengthy reading list and client evaluations.

I believe I have a responsibility to give back to the world we live in. I have chosen to volunteer and dedicate my time, skills, and resources with the Joy In Birthing Foundation whose mission is “to provide birth and postpartum doula services to low income families, women in the foster care system, mothers in homeless shelters, pregnant teenagers, survivors of sexual trafficking and expecting women in the criminal justice system.”

Even without the certification requirements, I have a philosophy of perpetual improvement. I do not aim for perfection but rather strive to continue to learn, grown and better myself as a person in this world and as a professional. With that in mind, I have invested in my training and education in the following ways
